UPSC Notification 2018 | Know Exam Dates, Eligibility & Fee Details

UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) has announced UPSC Notification 2018 for the UPSC Civil Services Exams 2018. According to the latest UPSC notification 2018, registrations will begin on 7th Feb 2018 and will close by 6th March 2018. The UPSC Prelims exam will be held in June 2018 and the Mains will be conducted in September 2018. The Final result likely to be declared in January 2019. UPSC Examalso popularly known as IAS exam is conducted by Union Public Service Commission to recruit Civil Services Officers, every year. The Exam is conducted in 3 stages-

  • Prelims
  • Mains
  • Personality Test

Selection Procedure for UPSC 2018 Exam

According to the UPSC Notification 2018, following stages will be considered for final selection. Only UPSC Mains exam & Interview marks will be considered for final selection list.

Stage-1: Preliminary Exam (Objective type questions -100 Marks)- The Prelims exam is an objective type exam. It is the first level you need to clear, to be eligible for the Mains exam. It will be conducted on 3rd June 2018, this year. Also Read- UPSC Prelims Syllabus and Exam Pattern 2018

Stage-2: Mains Exam (Descriptive Type)- The UPSC Mains exam is descriptive in nature. Ones who clear the Prelims exam are eligible to write the Mains exam. UPSC Mains will be conducted in October 2018, this year. Also Read- UPSC Mains Syllabus and Structure.

Stage-3: Personal Interview (275 Marks)- The personal interview, also know as IAS interview popularly is the last stage for UPSC Recruitment. It is normally conducted in the month of March. Also Read- IAS Interview Preparation Strategy.

UPSC IAS 2018 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are going to fill up IAS Application Form must read the UPSC Civil Services Notification 2018. The notification contains basic education and age limit required to fill UPSC Civil Services Application Form 2018. Hence it is very compulsory to qualify the eligibility criteria otherwise the application form will get rejected.

Education Qualification for UPSC Civil Services 2018 :

Participants who wish to apply for UPSC IAS Application Form 2018 must hold Graduation Degree from any recognized university or institute.

Age Limit for UPSC IAS 2018 Examination :

Candidates who wants to participants in the UPSC Civil Services Prelims Exam 2018 must be minimum 21 year old. The maximum age of the candidate should be 32 year old. Upper Age Relaxation for UPSC Civil Services 2018 Online Form

Candidates of SC/ST category will get 05 year age relaxation in the upper age. Participants of OBC category will get 03 year age relaxation. Applicants of PWD category will get 42 year age relaxation. Candidates can check relaxation wise age from the points given below :

  • General Category : 32 Year old
  • OBC Category : 35 year old
  • SC/ST Category : 37 year old
  • PWD : 42 Year old

Number of Attempts for UPSC 2018 Exam :

  • Open Category : 6 Times
  • OBC Category : 9 year old
  • SC/ST Category : No Limit

UPSC Civil Services Exam 2018 Fees

The participants who belongs to Male category (General and OBC) have to make the payment of application fees. SC/ST/PWD/Women category aspirants are exempted from the payment of application fees. The application fees payable for Gen and OBC category aspirants is Rs 100/- only.

Payment of UPSC Civil Services Application Form Fees :

Candidates can deposit the application fees either through online mode or in the offline mode. The online payment is acceptable through Debit or Credit Card, NET Banking etc. But if you are going with Offline payment then you can deposit the fees through Cash at SBI branch.

How to Apply Online | UPSC 2018 Online Application Procedure

UPSC will open the UPSC Registrations by 7th Feb 2018, which would close by 6th March 2018. Procedure to complete the “UPSC Application form 2018” through online mode

  1. Go to official website upsconline.nic.in
  2. Click on “Application form” of the home page
  3. Select PART- 1 for registration with applicant details such as Name, Parents name, Date of birth, Permanent address etc.
  4. After registration for part-1, candidate will receive a registration number
  5. Now the candidate should login with registration no. for PART-2 Registration and candidate should enter the required information in the form
  6. Upload candidate scanned Photo & signature in required format
  7. Finally pay the fee (Rs.100/-) through the Credit/Debit/Internet banking or SBI etc
  8. Take printout of the application for future reference
